I often get asked why I keep going back to Greece, and in particular Santorini. There is truly something healing about the place. When there, I try as often as I can to get out onto my friend's boat. Often the trip is to an neighbouring island like Ios or Anafi, but I think my favourite trip is a simple trip around the caldera, the sunken, water filled basin of the volcano that was created when the volcano erupted around 1650BCE. Devestating as it must have been to the people living on the island at the time, today it makes for damn stunning scenery.
